Representing the common interests of New Zealand dairy manufacturing and exporting companies

The Dairy Companies Association of New Zealand (DCANZ) is the representative body of New Zealand dairy manufacturing and exporting companies.

We work in the best interests of the New Zealand dairy industry as a whole by representing the common interests of our members on matters of public policy both within New Zealand and internationally. Our goals are to:

  • Maintain and grow trade opportunities for New Zealand dairy products;
  • Ensure New Zealand dairy exports are supported and enabled by fit-for-purpose food regulatory and biosecurity frameworks;
  • Strengthen the reputation of New Zealand as a reliable exporter of safe and sustainable dairy products.

Our members’ perspectives matter: they are a critical component of the New Zealand growth story. Dairy is a third of New Zealand’s goods exports.

DCANZ members account for around 98% of the milk processed in New Zealand and a similarly high proportion of New Zealand dairy exports.

New Zealand dairy

The New Zealand dairy industry is proud to produce dairy goodness which we share with the world.

With our natural advantages and unique combination of qualities as a country – care, integrity, and ingenuity – New Zealand is ideally suited to making one of the essentials for a healthy diet: MILK.

Milk – one of the most nutrient-dense foods available – is the foundation of our industry. Working within a world-class regulatory framework, DCANZ members transform and export that milk as a broad range of high-quality products that are exported to over 120 different markets.
